The Founders Memorial at NSDAR Headquarters was mentioned in an earlier blog. In 1930, the chapter was obviously undertaking efforts to document significant events in the chapter's history and the Historian for the chapter, Kate Jones, had written about these activities. She mentioned the donation made by the chapter to support the Founders Memorial.
The Founders Memorial was dedicated in 1929 and this event was obviously fresh in the memory of Kate Jones as she worked on the chapter history. Every year at Continental Congress, Daughters place a wreath at the memorial at the conclusion of the Sunday Memorial Service. I've attended this event before, but will probably view it though a slightly altered lens with the new knowledge that my chapter helped (along with I'm sure many others) fund this beautiful memorial.
