But...in 1922 the State Society was still small enough for reporting at the State Conference, and here's the report by our chapter, which was still known then as the General Joseph Winston Chapter.
The General Joseph Winston Chapter sends greetings and submits the following report:
We have sixty-seven interested and active members, having lost one by death, Mrs. W. B. Taylor.
Mrs. E. B. Jones, our former Regent, was appointed Organizing Regent and is successfully organizing a new Chapter.
The Treasurer reports all financial obligations paid, including 50 cents per member for scholarship fund and $1.00 each for furnishing North Carolina room, one member contributing $500 to this fund. We have assisted local charities.
Our Registrar has completed the triplicate papers now required. The State Registrar especially commended her prompt and efficient work.
The Historical Committee has been active, locating graves of Revolutionary soldiers and points of historical interest.
Washington's birthday was celebrated with a colonial tea. We joined with American Legion in celebrating Decoration Day. Flag Day was fittingly observed with patriotic exercises a the country home of Mrs. W. N. Reynolds. We joined with Civitan Club on Constitution Day, holding a mass meeting with patriotic address and songs. One member had distributed copies of American Creed.

Chapter Day was observed with an outline of Chapter History and growth.
On May 26th we entertained the members of the Second District with a delightful luncheon at Robert E. Lee Hotel, with 125 members present. Speeches, reports, and toasts by National, State and local officers followed.
