Day 93 of 110: Veterans History Project

According to the Veterans History Project, we lose an average of 1,700 war veterans each day and their stories along with them.

The Veterans History Project is supported by the DAR through the DAR Service to Veterans Committee. The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center (part of the Library of Congress) collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.

These personal accounts may be oral histories, documentation such as journals and letters, or photos and film.

In addition, those U.S. citizen civilians who were actively involved in supporting war efforts (such as war industry workers, USO workers, flight instructors, medical volunteers, etc.) are also invited to share their valuable stories.

Learn more about this project, and encourage veterans and others to participate and support this important project.
